If you are receiving the error:
when attempting to create a new user, this is likely because you have symbols in the username! On Purelymail, we have some special features which allows you to get more customization and control from your email. One of these features is called "Symbolic Subaddressing", which is where your email can be extended with tags to provide functionally more emails that points to yours. You can learn more about it here: https://purelymail-help.freshdesk.com/en/support/solutions/articles/159000406702-symbolic-subaddressing
How can I change this so that I can use symbols in my username?
If you absolutely require usernames in your email accounts, then you will have to disable symbolic subaddressing for the domain that you want symbols for. To do this, complete the following:
1. Log into the Admin account for Purelymail.
2. Select the Domains tab at the top of the screen.
3. Choose the domain you want symbols for (e.g. example.com).
4. Toggle the "Symbolic Subaddressing" option to disabled.
Once this has been completed, you should be able to head back to the new user screen, and create users with characters in their username. As shown above, the most common might be no-reply@example.com which you may require for business or personal purposes.
