Troubleshooting this error

If you receive this error when opening your mail application, or trying to connect to our servers in any way, then this can indicate that your public IP has been restricted from the service. This error occurs because our system is setup to protect against IPs and services that are abusing the service, and can flag failed login attempts.

1. Disable any proxies or VPNs if enabled

We have seen cases in the past where having a VPN or a proxy enabled can cause the connection to our servers to fail.  A great first step is to try disabling these if enabled, to ensure that they aren't causing issues. If when disabling your proxy or VPN, your connection returns, then this is the likely cause.

2. Try a different mail app

We have observed that some mail applications have caused issues when trying to connect to our servers. Particularly Apple Mail on iOS devices. To ensure that it is not just your mail app, we recommend trying another mail app to see if you get the same results. On desktop we recommend using Thunderbird (available for all operating systems), and for mobile trying Blue Mail.

3. Try a different network

If you are still having issues, then trying a different network can help. This could be using a mobile hotspot or a different network entirely. If you are still getting issues on your original network and not on a different network, then contact support. It is possible that your public IP address has been blocked from accessing our service. We can work with you to identify the issue, and resolve it so you can continue using your email.
