Creating an App Password has many uses, and can be fairly straight forward to complete. Here's how to do it:

  1. Log in as an Admin: Use your admin credentials to log in.
  2. Navigate to User Management: Go to the "User Management" section.
  3. Select the user: Choose the user that you want to create the app password for.
  4. Create the App Password

Creating an App Password is an important security measure to use to help protect your account when connecting it to an application. The process to create this is fairly simple, and easy to use.

1. Log into the admin account

You will need to first log into the admin account. Head to the account login page (not Webmail). If you have any issues with this, or have forgotten what the admin account is, you can contact us at support@purelymail.com or create a ticket above.

2. Navigate to User Management

Once you are logged in, you can head to the navigation bar at the top of the screen and select the "User" option. This will provide you with the screen where you can create new users, or manage existing ones like we are in this instance.

3. Select the user

You will need to select the user for which you want to create the app password for. Upon selecting this user, you will be presented with their account info page.

4. Create the app password

Scrolling down, you will find a section entitled "App Passwords". From there, you can press the button to create a new app password. Ensure that you have named this for what you are creating it for, which will help if you have to reset it next time.

Once this is done, you can use the generated app password for applications that you are using!
