We understand that a few of our users for either preference or requirement reasons need to use the Gmail interface to send and receive email. This guide walks through how to set this up for your Gmail account, and an important note for the user's inbox at the end.

Setup

Step 1. Please log into the Gmail for Web interface, and enter your settings.

Step 2: Choose "See all Settings"

Step 3: Choose "Accounts and Import"

Step 4: Choose "Add an Email Account" under "Check email from other accounts"

Step 5: Enter the details to connect to the account. Technical settings for POP3 can be found here: https://purelymail.com/docs/setup/technical

Once you have completed the following steps above, and added the account, then you will be able to start receiving your emails to Gmail via our servers using the POP3 protocol.

Note about using this

Please note that POP3 is a DESTRUCTIVE protocol. Using this means that once the emails have been fetched to Gmail, they no longer exist on our servers and cannot be recovered this way. The copy of the email that exists within Gmail will be your only copy. Do not use this method if you intend to access your email any other way.
